However, Myungho Choi also produced some of the most clean, groovy and cutting-edge Techno tracks for the time that I heard on his own label, Transit. Not well known, and short-lived as far as labels go, this first release (of 2?) on Transit (. label, I believe) is a beauty. The style is labeled as "Minimal", but I disagree. There is plenty to chew on in each of these tracks: warm pads underlay percolating, syncopated melodies, while a combination of laptop bits-and-pieces as well as pure classic analog percussion swirl around

Around the time of this release, my label Sprout Recordings picked up one of this guy's more downtempo/IDM-ish releases. At Winter Music Conference in Miami that year we swapped CD's and vinyl, and the rest was history. However, Myungho Choi also produced some of the most clean, groovy and cutting-edge Techno tracks for the time that I heard on his own label, Transit. Not well known, and short-lived as far as labels go, this first release (of 2?) on Transit (U.S. label, I believe) is a beauty. The style is labeled as "Minimal", but I disagree. There is plenty to chew on in each of these tracks: warm pads underlay percolating, syncopated melodies, while a combination of laptop bits-and-pieces as well as pure classic analog percussion swirl around. Clearly Myungho who knows a little something about theory. Lovers of classic Detroit Techno, and more recent Ghostly International and Force Inc. label material are sure to digs this stuff. Every track is moody and rocks, though some more than others, and unlike many short-lived labels the vinyl quality is still high. Still works today in the Traktor- and Live-drenched DJ booths - and like all great Techno, this was ahead of it's time. Worth seeking out.
