Give 'Em Enough Rope (1978). Singles from The Clash. White Riot" Released: 18 March 1977. Remote Control" Released: 13 May 1977. The Clash is the debut studio album by English punk rock band the Clash. It was released on 8 April 1977 through CBS Records. In March 2003, Mojo magazine ranked The Clash number 2 in its Top 50 Punk Albums, writing that the album was "the ultimate punk protest album Noted Jamaican producer Lee Perry heard the album while in London in 1977, and played it to Bob Marley, who in turn mentioned the Clash on his own track "Punky Reggae Party". The album was included in Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Track listing.

Tommy Gun. The Clash. Produced by Sandy Pearlman. Album Give ’Em Enough Rope. Give ’Em Enough Rope The Clash. 1. Safe European Home. 2. English Civil War.

It hit number 2 in the UK, and number 128 on the Billboard chart. The album's first UK single, "Tommy Gun", rose to number 19. 1979–1982. In February 1979, CBS released the single, "English Civil War", and in May the EP, The Cost of Living. In August and September 1979, the Clash recorded their third studio album, London Calling.

Give’ Em Enough Rope, their second album (The Clash, released in the . in 1977, remains unissued here, as do several remarkable singles that appear on neither LP), is a rocker’s assault on the Real World in the grand tradition of Beggar’s Banquet, Let It Bleed and Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols. Give ‘Em Enough Rope entered the . charts at Number Two. Though a sniveling backlash has hit them in the British pop press, there’s no question that a lot of hopes, symbolic and otherwise, are riding on the group: If the album sells, does that mean the spirit is there to make society change a little faster?

Give 'em Enough Rope was generally welcomed by critics and was designated/won distinctive awards. The artist just dropped his latest collection Give 'em Enough Rope – and we have it here for you to check out! The Clash's new collection includes 10 tracks on 1 disc(s) with total runtime of 37:07. Each track has same high quality 320kbps CBR format.

The teaming was quite controversial within the punk community, and the sound of Give 'Em Enough Rope is considerably cleaner, yet the more direct sound hardly tamed the Clash. While the record doesn't burn with the same intense, amateurish energy of The Clash, it does have a big, forceful sound that is nearly as powerful. What keeps Give 'Em Enough Rope from being a classic is its slightly inconsistent material.

All The Young Punks (New Boots And Contracts) Tracks 1 to 10 are their 2nd album "Give 'Em Enough Rope" - released October 1978 in the UK on CBS Records S CBS 82431 and February 1979 in the USA on Epic JE 35543. The second "Safe European Home" hits your speakers – the power is formidable. Like most I grew up with the British-pressed CBS Records Vinyl LP and it was good without ever being great in terms of kick-ass punch. No such problem here.

Gene Grief stole the design credit from the artist Hugh Brown who designed this cover - Grief made minor alterations to Brown's work and CBS credited Grief, their inhouse artist. Brown gets an obscure reference on the second release. The sleeve is Brown's work not Grief's.
