In the last year of his life, Jon Hiseman formed. JCM, a trio with the Colosseum members Clem Clempson, on guitar, and Mark Clarke, on bass. The group made an album, Heroes, that contained music written by former collaborators Hiseman had outlived, among them Jack Bruce, Allan Holdsworth, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Graham Bond and Ollie Halsall. Ironically, the album will become a tribute to Hiseman himself. JCM began a tour in April, but cancelled it as the brain tumor advanced. Jcm is a brand new band, but the musicians Jon Hiseman, Clem Clempson and Mark Clarke are very well known. They all were part of the legendary Jazz/Rock pioneers COLOSSEUM and their abum Colosseum Live from 1971 is still one of the best live records in rock history. Now Jon Hiseman, drummer and founding member of Colosseum has asked his longtime colleagues and friends to join his exciting band project. other posts by Green. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Between these two versions of Colosseum, Hiseman formed the band Tempest with Allan Holdsworth, Paul Williams and Colosseum bandmate Mark Clarke. Ollie Halsall joined the band temporarily making the band a quintet but Holdsworth left the group along with Williams, leaving Halsall to handle all guitar and vocal duties. In 2017, Hiseman formed a new trio band called JCM. The band recorded an album Heroes late in 2017 and it was released in April 2018. JCM began touring on 7 April 2018. Other members are guitarist/vocalist Clem Clempson and bass player/vocalist Mark Clarke.

Jon Hiseman has formed a new group with his former Colosseum colleagues, guitarist Clem Clempson and bassist Mark Clarke. The trio, known as JCM, have live dates lined up and a new album in the pipeline. Writing on his blog, Hiseman cites the passing of guitarists Larry Coryell and Allan Holdsworth within a month of each other earlier this year as the catalyst behind the new outfit. As I write this, the album is half recorded and the tour starts in April 2018. I have no idea where this will all lead but we are certainly going to have fun – and it all keeps me fit physically and mentally. JCM have lined up the following dates: Fletching Trading Boundaries - April 7. Milton Keynes The Stables - 9.
