The Beacon Street Collection is the second studio album by American rock band No Doubt, released on March 25, 1995 by Beacon Street Records. It was produced by the band and recorded in a homemade studio in the garage of their house on Beacon Avenue in Anaheim, California, from which the album takes its name.

The Beacon Street Collection shows off No Doubt's range as musicians (from "Open The Gate" - a pop-infused Ska song, to "Total Hate 95" - a mix of 90s thrash ska with a melody during the breakdowns, to "Snakes" - a heavier ska song with a grungier sound). Unlike most albums that are considered deepcuts, you could play this for a generic music fan and they would most likely find a couple songs they enjoy.

Beacon Street Collection is No Doubt’s second studio album. It’s a follow-up to the band’s self-titled debut, which failed commercially and caused their label Interscope Records to lose faith in them. To combat this, the group formed their own label (Beacon Street) and recorded the album in a garage. In total, Squeal and Doghouse were the only singles released. After the album was released independently, Interscope decided to re-release in 1997, where it sold 100,000 copies in its first week. Beacon Street Collection Q&A.

The Beacon Street Collection is the second studio album by American rock band No Doubt, released in March 1995. It was released independently by the band under their own record label, Beacon Street Records. It was produced by No Doubt themselves and recorded in a homemade recording studio in the garage of their house on Beacon Street in Anaheim, California, from which the album takes its name. A large number of songs on The Beacon Street Collection were written by Eric Stefani, who left the group before their third album was recorded. This gave the album a similar sound to their first album, No Doubt, in which Eric Stefani had collaborated in the writing of all the songs. Because the lyrics in Tragic Kingdom were written mainly by Gwen Stefani about her experiences in life, the style of music changed from what No Doubt had previously produced.

Give me a fucking vinyl release of this, PLEASE. I'm not a No Doubt fan really, loved them in the mid-90s when it was cool too, but the pop stuff didn't last - this really does. Gwen Stefani puts in a very legitimate contender as "best singer of all time" on this one when you realise this is all direct to tape in their god damn backyard. Her performances on Blue In The Face, Greener Pastures and By The Way are just jaw-dropping. It's a shame this is not the No Doubt the mainstream ever heard, and even more of a shame that Stefani herself didn't feel this was a viable way to continue a career.

No Doubt's most underrated album. Tragic Kingdom may have helped revitalize ska, but this 1995 album was the beginning of what No Doubt could have accomplished. Though this came out first, it sounds almost like a Tragic Kingdom deepcuts album.Lyrically, this album is a bit more basic; with Gwen singing mainly about love, fake people, and the realization that she needs/deserves better for herself. You're going to find your vintage Gwen Stefani ska ballads ("Stricken", "Greener Pastures"), but that's to be expected when you're listening to a No Doubt album. The Beacon Street Collection shows off No Doubt's range as musicians (from "Open The Gate" - a pop-infused Ska song, to "Total Hate 95" - a mix of 90s thrash ska with a melody during the breakdowns, to "Snakes" - a heavier ska song with a grungier sound).Unlike most albums that are considered deepcuts, you could play this for a generic music fan and they would most likely find a couple songs they enjoy. While this album will never be considered a classic, it's very much overlooked and deserves to be recognized as one of No Doubt's most complete productions.
