Road to Joy" contains an interpolation of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy". The title of the album is taken from a lyric in this song.

I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning is one of two Bright Eyes albums (along with Digital Ash in a Digital Urn) released on January 25, 2005, by Saddle Creek Records. The title Road to Joy. The title of the album is taken from a lyric in the song Road to Joy. The album contains their most famous song, First Day of My Life. I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning Q&A. Producers Mike Mogis. Writers Conor Oberst. 12 String Guitar Mike Mogis. Backing Vocals Andy LeMaster, Emmylou Harris, Jake Bellows & 2 more.

Album I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning. The sun came up with no conclusion Flowers sleeping in their beds This city's cemetery's humming I’m wide-awake, it’s morning. I have my drugs, I have my woman They keep away my loneliness My parents they have their religion But sleep in separate houses. I read the body count out of the paper And now it’s written all over my face No one ever plans to sleep out in the gutter Sometimes that’s just the most comfortable place.

Album · 2005 · 10 Songs. Released alongside the electronic experiments of Digital Ash in a Digital Urn, I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning shows off Conor Oberst’s folksy side, which had matured from fragile and volatile to surprisingly full-blooded. Occasionally joined by Emmylou Harris (whose ty approach, no doubt, influenced Oberst’s own), Oberst sounds alternately personal and political, angry but openhearted.

I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning. Let's start with the album that's merely "decent. Oberst and producer Mike Mogis had talked about making a more rhythmic and electronic album since even before Lifted, and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn finally realizes that project, setting Oberst in front of a rock band, beats and strings. Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning. I've never really seen this as a break up album either, but outside of First Day of My Life, I think it's still pretty dark. Just in a much broader sense. The nagging darkness in society and the human condition and whatnot. Also, I think Road to Joy is the Bright Eyes equivalent of Fight the Power lol. SH!TSTACKRECORDS.

Now I’m drunk as hell on a piano bench, And when I press the keys, it all gets reversed. The sound of loneliness makes me happier. This was the first record I owned (given by my cousin), the first album I ever felt that feeling in your gut over. It’s a masterpiece through and through sparing you of the gory details for now - Every Day and Every Night (1999) Purchased at Amoeba LA, so glad to have found it. All 5 songs are great. Listen to A Perfect Sonnet when you’re mad at love - I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning (2005) The most iconic intro ever We’re going to a party! I. .It’s a birthday party.

I'm curious, does anybody have an older pressing of this that has compared it to the remastered by Bob Ludwig 2016 version? Any notable differences?
