Neal Morse biography Neal R. Morse - Born August 2, 1960 (Van Nuys, California, USA). As a young musician, Neal's dream was like many others-to find success in the pop music world. But after years of struggling in the LA singer-songwriter scene, he realized that his dream would not materialize. Morse's new studio album is a conceptual, progressive rock album entitled, One. Mike Portnoy returns to perform on drums (in what is regarded as perhaps his finest performance), and up-in-coming prog artist Randy George (Testimony Live) returns on bass. They are joined by legendary guitarist Phil Keaggy on several tracks.
The collective known as The Neal Morse Band rises to the formidable task of matching their most celebrated work, The Similitude of a Dream, proving they continue to grow and heighten the quality of their musical output. If you approach this record hoping for a change of direction – perhaps a completely new songwriting approach or a return to long epics – this is not that album. A companion double-album set in the same mold as "The Similitude of a Dream", the Neal Morse Band dazzles with epic songwriting, musicianship and production. While it doesn’t color outside the lines much from its predecessor, this Great Adventure will deliver for fans of Morse and progressive rock at its best.
