This album is good but not their best, and still retains the hardcore edge they had on answer that and stay fashionable. Throughout the album there is the on going theme hate and sadness, and these guys dont really seem like very happy chappies, but all the better at least they right good music because of it. One of my fave AFI intros starts of this album 'Keeping Out Of Direct Sunlight' with the usual chanting thing going on, and it kicks off the album nicely with some good shouts from Mark in there
Future band member Jade Puget performed backing vocals for the album as well, making Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes the first AFI album the band's current members collaborated in. Nick 13 from American rock band Tiger Army is featured in the track "A Single Second", performing vocals in the chorus of the song. Answer That and Stay Fashionable is the debut studio album by American rock band AFI. It was originally released on July 4,1995 through Wingnut Records and it was re-released on April 22,1997 through Nitro Records. Answer That and Stay Fashionable was recorded in Hayward, California at the studio of Andy Ernst in 1995 and it was produced by Doug Sangalang, Tim Armstrong and Brett Reed. The album features a parody of the film Reservoir Dogs, the tracks Two of a Kind and Yürf Rendenmein were re-recorded for AFIs second studio album Very Proud of Ya.
